After completing her Multimedia & Design studies at CityVarsity School of Media and Creative Arts in 2002,
receiving “Student of the Year” two years running, Michaela Rose Anderson began her career as the design head
of a Cape Town based online casino company where she worked for 3 years.

After the company relocated to Johannesburg, Michaela started working at Stonewall+ (now Native VML) a full
service global digital marketing and advertising agency, where she remained for 9 months, after which she was
headhunted by Saatchi & Saatchi Atplay, the digital division of the international advertising agency.
She worked here for close on 5 years as a senior interactive designer.

She has had the opportunity to work on some exciting brands during her career, including Archers Aqua,
Pioneer Foods, UCT Graduate School of Business, Markham, Pampers, Peugeot, BoE, Engen, Old Mutual
and Drug Free Sport to name a few, and was lucky enough to be awarded a gold and bronze Loerie during
her time at Saatchi & Saatchi Atplay.

In 2011 she started sharing her knowledge and experience with the learners at CityVarsity School of Media
and Creative Arts, as well as freelancing in web design, with a primary focus on user interface design,
usability and information architecture.

She now lives with her husband and two children in Victoria, BC, Canada.
